TROY DAVIS JUSTICE WATCH
WRFG will air reports from the Georgia
Pardons and Parole Board at the top of every hour starting at 7 am, and
host a live, on air Community Conversation from 6 pm to 8 pm. WRFG 89.3
FM streams worldwide at www.wrfg.org.
The State of Georgia has scheduled Troy Davis's execution for this coming Wednesday, September 21. His last chance for clemency is Monday, when the Georgia
Pardons and Parole Board will meet at 9:00 am at the "Sloppy" Floyd
Building at 2 ML King Boulevard across from the State Capitol.
Troy's supporters, people who oppose the death penalty, citizens concerned about inequities and irregularities in the criminal justice system,
activists from the faith community, and others who are troubled by the
flimsy evidence on which Troy has been sentenced to death will gather
outside the building in a show of solidarity and to "keep watch." WRFG,
too, will be there, and will phone in at the top of every hour throughout the day to keep listeners abreast of the vigil and any news from the proceedings.
Monday evening, from 6 pm to 8 pm, listeners will have an opportunity to voice their thoughts on the Troy Davis case, the US
criminal justice system, and the Pardons and Parole Board's decision by calling in to WRFG's studio at
404-523-8989.
