"Siggi," a Wolof word from Senegal meaning 'Keep your head up," and "Dimanche," the French word for Sunday, is the passion of Kymberly S. Newberry, a Los Angeles-based dramatic artist and performer. "This is an inspired celebration of Francophone literature, art, music, cultural iconography, narratives, life-motivating stories and tone-talking," said Newberry. "It is about providing an annual conducive environment for African and African descendant vocal and visual spirits to swirl together, convene in one place briefly and jump for joy."
This free event is open to the public but donations will be accepted at the door. For more information, please call 213.422.6916, send an e-mail to email@example.com, or visit www.siggidimanche.co
