Freedom Fighter, The Honorable Cynthia McKinney, Comes To Black Spectrum Theater in Queens, New York
On Saturday July 14, 2012 at 2 PM., at Black Spectrum Theatre, CEMOTAP will host a Free Forum with veteran lawmaker and courageous freedom fighter former the Honorarble Cynthia McKinney. Black Spectrum Theatre is located inside Roy Wilkins Park at Baisley Boulevard and 177th Street near Merrick Boulevard. McKinney is coming to address the topic of racism in the music and entertainment industry. McKinney is not only bringing with her a plan and a course of action but she is bringing with her two entertainment Industry insiders Leonard Rowe and Marcus Washington. Rowe and Washington will provide first hand testimony of how the racism in this industry robs our community artistically and economically.
Their qualifications to do so cannot be questioned. Leonard Rowe was literally one of the biggest Black concert promoters in the industry until, the white mega promoters "White Balled him." How big was Rowe?" He was asked at one point by Michael Jackson to handle Jackson's financial affairs. He says he was blocked from doing so by those who handled Jackson's affairs at the time of his death. Rowe has also authored a book that suggests that Michael was murdered by the people who wanted to rob Jackson of his multibillion music catalogue.
Marcus Washington was one of only a handful of Blacks permitted to train as execs at the legendary William Morris Endeavor Agency. At one point Washington helped co-manage the career of 8 time grammy award nominee Jasmine Sullivan. Mr. Rowe, Mr Washington and Congresswoman McKinney have testimony that will inform and indeed hold the audience spellbound. They also come prepared with the outline of a simple action the community can take to reverse the tide of racism in this industry. Legendary Broadcaster Bernard White will M.C. the program.

An April 2002 lawsuit by agent Sandra Epstein against Endeavor Agency brought accusations by Epstein and other Endeavor employees against Emanuel.[15] In the court filings, Emanuel is alleged to have allowed a friend to operate a pornographic website out of Endeavor's offices.[15]
According to Epstein, Emanuel made racist.. remarks and prevented her from sending a script about Navy SEALs to actor Wesley Snipes, saying, "That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Everyone knows that blacks don't swim." Epstein's claims were settled for $2.25 million.[15]
