I am emailing you to announce the publication of a book titled We Have Not Been Moved: Resisting Racism and Militarism in 21st Century America.
The publisher is PM Press. The Editors are Elizabeth
Betita Martinez, Matt Meyer and Mandy Carter. Alice Walker and Sonia Sanchez
wrote Afterwords. Cornel West wrote the Foreword.
Mumia Abu-Jamal, Alejandra Alatriz, Dan Berger, Karl
Bessinger, Anne Braden, Marilyn Buck, Bill Fletcher, Vincent Harding, Fred Ho,
Sarah Hussein, Ibrahim Ramey, Bayard Rustin, Gwendolyn Zoharah Simmons, Conrad
Worrill, and others contributed Chapters. Among the historic texts included in
the book is a timely dialogue between Dr. Martin Luther King, Robert F.
Williams, Dave Dellinger, and Dorothy Day.
Matt Meyer and Dan Berger edited a 5-year old interview
by me, which is included as a chapter titled The Pan-Africanization of Black
Power: True History, Coalition-building and the All-African People’s
Revolutionary Party.

This event is part of the annual celebration of Martin
Luther King Day. It is also organized in protest against Obama’s Inauguration.
Erik Todd Dellums, Congressman Ron Dellum’s son, will present a dramatic reading
as Bayard Rustin (from a never-before-published speech in the book). Additional
presentations will be made by co-editors Mandy Carter (co-founder of the
National Black Justice Coalition) and Matt Meyer (convener of the War Resisters
International Africa Working Group). I have been invited to make a few brief
remarks..
