Maimouna Keita African Dancers Return to The International African Arts Festival!

We Welcome Dancers from the

Maimouna Keita School of African Dance, Honoring 30 Years! Don't Miss Them!

Maimouna Keita School of African Dance (MKSAD) is all about "exposing diverse communities to the rich cultural heritage of Africa and the African Diaspora."

The co-founders Marie Basse-Wiles (a native of Dakar, Senegal, West Africa) and Olukose Wiles (of Queens, NY) organized Maimouna Keita School of African Dance in 1983 ...

The school is named in honor of Marie Basse-Wiles' grandmother and is dedicated to preserving and sharing African culture and history with all [who] embrace the culture. Each season the Maimouna Keita School of African Dance presents its Annual International Dance Conference & Concert in New York City. The concert features electrifying songs and dances, to bridge the cultural gap between people of all backgrounds.

In 2022, the school celebrates its 30th anniversary of presenting its conference and concert. We are honored to have them return to the stage at The Festival! BRING THE ENTIRE FAMILY!

The 51st annual festival is from Friday, July 1 to Monday, July 4, 2022. We'll be back at Commodore Barry Park, downtown Brooklyn. Dates and times for shows will be announced soon.
