~ (BlackNews.com) ~ The NASCAR Diversity Internship is a 10-week, full-time, paid summer internship program that is designed to expose diverse college and university students to the many career opportunities within the NASCAR industry. In addition to NASCAR, this program involves several NASCAR sponsors and licensees, NASCAR teams and tracks, and other motorsports-related companies.
The program is designed to support deserving students with an interest in the NASCAR industry, who are of Alaskan Native, American Indian, Asian/Pacific Islander, African American, Hispanic, or of other racial minority descent. Over 150 interns from across the country have participated in this program, some of whom later accepted full-time positions in the industry.
Marcus Jadotte, Managing Director of Public Affairs, NASCAR, comments, "This program is one of several NASCAR diversity initiatives aimed at introducing the professional opportunities available within the industry to diverse students.
